The Entrance Medical Centre is a private billing practice. You may book an appointment by either:

Consultation times

Our normal consultation times are 15 minutes.

Longer consultation times are available for complex health problems or counselling for emotional difficulties. Please inform the receptionist if you require extra time.

Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time and doctor.

Private billing practice fees

The Entrance Medical Centre is a private billing practice. We privately bill for:

  • Private patient consultations
  • Workers Compensation
  • Third Party and Commercial Drivers Medicals.

Most medico-legal fees such as medical reports, pre-employment medicals and driving medicals will attract GST.

A reduced fee applies for patients on concession cards. We can send your payment online to Medicare for your electronic Medicare Rebate. Medicare will deposit your rebate back to your bank account within 24 hours.

Note – All DVA card holders and children under 16 are bulk billed and GP Care Plans and Health Assessments are also bulk billed.

Payment at time of consultation is required. Please ask our staff for a list of all fees.

Overseas Patients

Overseas patients will be privately billed and will need to claim through their travel insurance.

Newborn Babies

Newborn babies that have not yet been registered with Medicare number will need to pay the full private consultation amount – But don’t worry, you can claim back from Medicare upon registration.

Our policy on cancellation

Please allow 24 hours notice if you need to cancel an appointment, so that we can accommodate other patients.

Bulk Billing

The following individuals and procedures are eligible for Bulk Billing:

  • Valid DVA Card holders
  • GP Care Plans
  • Health Assessments
  • Children under the age of 16
  • Vaccinations.

Valid cards are required to be shown on each visit.

Overseas patients will need to pay for their consultation on the day of their visit.

Payment options

Fees are payable at the time of consultation, by cash, EFTPOS, MasterCard or Visa. Transaction fees apply on all EFTPOS transactions. If paying by cash we please ask you have the correct amount.

Medicare online rebates

We process your Medicare claim for you. Your Medicare Rebate will go back to your bank account details held by Medicare Australia, normally within 24 hours.

To submit a Medicare rebate claim online, you must be registered, have your Medicare card and your doctor’s account – Find out more here or ask one of our friendly reception team for more information.

Results, referrals and prescriptions

Our doctors prefer to see all our patients – Please book an appointment when:

  • Please ensure you book in for prescription repeats when you fill your last repeat. If you require a referral to a Specialist please ensure you make an appointment with your GP at least two weeks before your Specialist appointment. We can book an appointment in advance for you.
    • If your prescription runs out, please inform our receptionists, we’ll accommodate you with the next appointment available
    • All our doctors have access to your file, so if your doctor isn’t available another of the doctors will be able to renew your prescription
  • Following up test results tests with your doctor – Please make an appointment on the day of your consultation unless advised by your doctor
  • If your results are urgent, you will be contacted by the practice.

If you are unable to collect your prescriptions, please provide a signed consent form to keep on your file so a friend or relative can collect them.
